Some may have the cold and snow to deal with but living in the Bay Area 20~30 miles outside of San Francisco, the earthquake known as the "big one" may hit at any moment so sayeth the doom sayers and scientists.

So.... I drive my Z every chance I get! ROFL

I feel for anyone dealing with the cold and the snow. My first vehicle I bought brand new was 30 days old and parked across the street from my apartment outside of Chicago. A neighbor knocked on my door to tell me someone had hit it and took off. He said they had revved their engine at the stop sign and started fish tailing as they gained momentum. The just missed a couple of cars on my side of the street before careening over and hitting my pickup just past the drivers side door. The only sign of them was their tire tracks which were quickly disappearing in the snow on the street.... and of course my ripped open truck bed! So much for worrying about the "first scratch"...

Unfortunately the neighbor didn't get a license plate or make/model of the hit and run vehicle. The driver was never found. I was in the Military at the time and was glad to get orders back to Calif. 6 months later. I was more than ready to leave the cold and snow!

I don't miss driving in it or shoveling it on a daily basis but I do occasionally drive up to the foothills and play in the snow...

yeah, this winter crap is really wearing on me big time. I don't know how much more I can take.:P This year has been the worst one that we have had in a long time too. very cold everyday along with a lot of snow. Believe me, if it wasn't for the fact that all my family members are here in Minnesota and friends, my job ect. I would have moved south a long time ago :D

Sorry to hear about your first new truck story. Isn't that just always the way when you get something brand new?

biddljj,

For your sake, I hope your Z gets done in time too so you can enjoy her this coming spring :)

Thanks. That does seem the way things go sometimes... too often? To make matters worse I had just transferred from Hawaii to Great Lakes, IL. I bought the truck while on leave and and my insurance hadn't transferred yet. It took so long to get the insurance company to pay for repairs that I picked up the truck from the body shop on the day I was leaving town for my next Duty Station, 9 months after the hit-and-run! Oh well, at least they paid. The body shop did a great job on the truck too.

Cheers
