240Z " the long way to new again"

Recommended Posts

Hey there,

I'm going to post the beginning of my 240Z project here and will update it every time and so on... For the rest of myself see my introduction on the members part.. :bunny:

I don't know much about Datsun for now, so all the help would be great! LOL

The owner didn't have much information about it, he thought it was from 71?

He sas i had my hands on a 240Z chassis with 280Z motor.

But i found a 260Z logo in some boxes that came with it? But he says that is not the original logo.

I put here in the shed, and started working on it..

Few pictures ( More to come ):

Hey thanks for all the help!

But is there also a book instead of a cd-rom, because that's more easy for me when i'm working in the shed.

Few resent pictures:

( Massive layers of paint and epoxy on it, half a centimeter for nothing.. when i was on bear metal on the rear fenders.. there was no bump or what so ever.. only smooth metal.. Strange?

Hi Bart:

You need to tell us what the Vehicle Identification Number {VIN} is for your Z. See picture below. Then we can tell you what model year it is, and aprox. when it was built.

If you send us the engine serial number - we might be able to tell you aprox. when it was built as well. The engine serial number is stamped on two small pads cast into the block, right below the #5 and #6 Spark Plugs. It will begin with L24, or L26 or L28 stamped into the first pad - and the second pad will have the serial number.

FWIW,

Carl B.
