I would say if he is selling them, they aren't holding up as well as he hoped. No return and only a few pictures

wouldn't get my $650 for a used set of previously "restored" taillights.

Also, let's not forget The West Coast Nationals is not a judged show, but a peoples choice show, so while they may look good, they may not actually be faithful anymore-I don't see the striations in the valley between the chromed areas-could be the picture, but for $650, I am not willing to find out.

Several of us are and have been looking at making replacement pieces-yes they are removable.

Looking at his lenses, they don't look too well polished, but, could be he didn't clean them before taking pictures. With the new technique those of us that are working on reproduction parts are investigating, new copies of these should not be that far away. I have a NOS set of taillights to make molds from, so making them dead-on will not be an issue.

Norm at Zeddsavers can re-chrome the trim if the plastic itself is in decent shape. He did a pair for a7dz a few weeks back. Jim is very happy with how they turned out, but I haven't seen them in person yet.

But even Norm can't fix them if the trim you have is too far gone. So repros will be welcomed by many.

My chrome strips are too far gone also, as well as thiny stress cracks in my tail lights. I will be looking for new sets of each soon, and will be doing the LED conversion that Dave does.

What about that chrome paint that you can buy at Auto Zone? I'm not expecting that much in quality from a rattle can but maybe it works? Mine are all pitted.

I'm very good at restoring the lenses so I'm not concerned about that.

I got a set of them from zraceproducts.com. for a lot less than that. They were in excellent condition and sure looks alot better than my old ones. He had alot there but I don't know there condition. Is it possible to recrome them? Can you recondition door panel trim to silver again? Mine has all come off

Will, you don't need a NOS set of taillights to use as the model - just a very good set. You do need a lot of money to get reproduction parts made.... So sell me the NOS set and get started on all the reproduction parts... Besides, you wouldn't want to risk destroying an NOS set???

I am so careful and have such faith in my work, there is no risk to the original set in my making molds! I do practice sets to find issues before using the prime parts. The lights are for my low vin-when the time comes. I have every light assembly for that project in NOS. I am aiming to make all my molds from NOS parts when I can round them up-kinda hard to beat the quality of a properly done mold made from an nos part!

I will watch for another NOS set for you though.

Approximately $45.00 each or $90.00 per set.

At that price, I'll have to check them out, If there work is that good, there is really no point in making reproductions, I can't get the reproductions shipped to and from a plater and properly tripple chrome plated for that doing less than 100 sets at a time.
