January 26, 200817 yr comment_235515 THE only thing I would like to see is that car SLIDING around a race track, would be interesting to see. January 26, 200817 yr comment_235527 Actually I like the looks of the car. Regardless what the original donor was. It looks like a old classic from the '20s and the ones pictured look well done. I suppose if I had the sort of money needed to build one, and had a chassis of some sort , Z or other wise it would be a fun project. Would I cut up a good car to build one? No. But one like the pictures would be fun to drive . January 27, 200817 yr comment_235546 It was not a kit, it was a turn key car like the Zimmers and Excalibers. At one point the Excalibers were built on Camaro bodies. $80K for a Camaro! In the late 70s through early 90s there were a healthy number of body kits made to look like the the early touring cars. This was made by a builder who modified an existing kit and hoped to sell 500 cars, My memory is that fewer than 40 were actually made. I haven't found the ad yet, but I know I have it.Will Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/26888-the-oddest-z-car-conversion-ive-ever-seen-the-spartan/?&page=2#findComment-235546 Share on other sites

January 27, 200817 yr comment_235550 This might not be the one you're looking for but they also made a Spartan II on the Z31 chassis. There were lots of "Kits" out there at one time. For one reason or another that fad has mostly faded out. Actually a former co-worker of mine had a car that looked a lot like that, but made from a VW Bug. They also made them from Pintos, and Chevettes if I remember correctly. It was an 80's thing... Thankfully that decade ended... January 28, 200817 yr comment_235651 its only a 2+2 Careful...I derided 2+2's once and got slammed by someone whose 2+2 is much nicer than any of my cars...
