January 26, 200817 yr comment_235477 Actually, it probably could, assuming you use the proper hitch/towbar. Years ago a friend borrowed my dad's steel trailer (custom built for the MG PB) for a quick towing of his Beetle. The car used to tow the trailer and bug was a mid 80's accord wagon, and it did it very well. Keep in mind that the tow was through town, and down any interstate/freeway, and we were able to use lesser traveled roads, but still it worked fine.If you do this, just make sure that you use the appropriate hookups. January 26, 200817 yr comment_235495 With a tow rope and a good driver in the Z yes. Towing the Z on a trailer is out of the question. I've towed things on a trailer that equaled or exceeded the weight of the tow vehicle before. Talk about white knuckles! (Especially when going above 50) If you're getting a two wheeled dolly and U-haul lets you use it with the Honda just drive under 35 and leave extra room for breaking. In Florida the state requires you to have a white flag on a tow rope more than twelve feet long. (Just thought I'd add) My Z once tugged a full size van and lawn trailer a few miles. (Used 50ft of pressure cleaning hose for tow rope ) Sure it was hard on the clutch etc but it worked. Using a rope makes more sense. You just need two good drivers. Keep mild tension on the rope at all times. January 26, 200817 yr comment_235521 Just borrow a friend's truck, a lot less hassle. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/26892-do-you-guys-think-a-civic-could/#findComment-235521 Share on other sites
January 26, 200817 yr comment_235532 Tow ropes are not legal in all states. Much depends on how far you need to travel and over what sort of roads. I used my truck and a flat bed trailer. with no problem. I wouldn't tow my Z under any circumstances. Unless it was going to be destroyed by flood or fire. January 27, 200817 yr comment_235545 Consider towing as part of the painting expense. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/26892-do-you-guys-think-a-civic-could/#findComment-235545 Share on other sites
