  1. 1. Which car do you think they should of gone with?

OK, well, I'm a little disapointed on how they are using a new shelby cobra mustang instead of sticking with the trans ams. I don't know if the trans ams are still made, but they should of at least of stuck with the pontiac line, maybe using a new GTO or something. But, here is a link if you guys wanna see whats going on.

They'd use a Yugo if the product placement bucks were right.

it's all about the benjamins...

I doubt the would have used an unpopular car model. Regardless of the sponsorship they still have to attract an audience.

As for using a Mustang, given that the Trans-am is ancient history from the perspective of the likely audience, (i.e. preteen boys...) and the Camaro will not be on the road for another year, the choice would have come down to a Mustang, Corvette, Charger, or one of the various "foreign" sports models, and frankly the likely audience (add to previous description, word "redneck"...) isn't going to be rooting for a "ferrr-un" model. LOL

(Actually, in this part of the country the term redneck isn't actually an insult. Just thought I should point that out, in my own defense....)

I think the current Firebird line should be good for that show. It already has the ram-air intakes on it, which looks a little like the scanner on the old show.

I could never see a womanizer-type like Michael Knight in a boxy musclecar like a Mustang.

But then again, Who's the star?

I was just going to bring up the redneck aspect. Around here it's the same thing, people actually try to be one. Yes, that includes going so far as having a fake southern accent. There are also 2 pairs of married first cousins in my town.

I don't think I'm going to watch the show. TV has become so bad that all I watch are Speed (which is becoming bad), History channel, and some Discovery.

Current Firebird? What am I missing here?

The last Firebird rolled off the assembly line in 2002.

I don't get the hoopla here. Has anyone ever seen a good remake of the old shows? This isn't exactly the first Knight Rider remake as stated in the linked article. Who really remembers the others? After the first season, and in some cases it take less time than that, this will likely end up wherever shows like 'The New Leave It To Beaver' and movies spawned from old shows like "Bewitched," "The Honeymooners", "The Dukes of Hazzard" and "The Beverly Hillbillies" ended up. Not many remakes ever measure up to the original.

I'm quite surprised that there hasn't been a remake of "The A-team," either for film or TV.

I suppose if the writer strike continues, they may just dig out the old scripts...

And I do believe that the strike is the reason for the "new" Knight Rider. Several years ago, Hasselhoff was slated to revive the series, I imagine that the scripts being used for this version are the ones that were shelved before.
