use the metal ready on the non rusty bits (otherwise it will peal off)

also must paint primer over top when the POR 15 is tacky (once POR 15 dries nothing sticks well) but be careful because if you paint the primer too early the POR 15 will not be able to hold the weight and will run.

Very important - use gloves, long sleeves, long pants, this stuff does NOT come off people.

I ordered my POR15 from www.por15.com.

They shipped it right away and I was using it by weeks end.

I agree. Get the surgical gloves and use them. That stuff has to wear off the body otherwise.

I also used the marine clean and the metal prep. Even though you don't have to I sanded off all the rust first. They have their own tie coat primer that I believe can be used anytime, even after the POR15 dries. They also have a chassis coat that can be used over POR15 anytime. You can put it over other paint if you rough up the surface but apparently it is not as effective as on bare or rusted metal.

I've just recently used the stuff so I don't have any knowledge about how long it holds up. Can anyone else comment about its durability?

I live in Northwestern New Jersey so tack on maybe 600 miles that 60 estimate and we are all set.

The company has an address of a PO box in Morristown NJ however the physical store is in Whippany. Equally about a 25-35 minute drive for me.

As for commenting on the product, I still have to pick up my supplies from them. I have heard nothing but fantastic things and if what they say is true, following their steps I will be doing my entire undercarriage, and engine compartment with this stuff.

When I called the company they stated that the tie-coat primer is to be applied to the cured POR-15 which is very sandable and resistant to lacquer, enamels and two part finish topcoats.

One quart of POR-15 covers 96 square feet and one pint will do 12. A little goes a long way
