240Z on Cover of GRM

[Chino 240Z]

It was excited to see a very clean 240Z on the cover of Grassroots Motorsports Magazine when I pulled it out of the mailbox yesterday. April 08 issue shows a nice Z on the cover, but no Z content in the article, just a cool cover shot. Thumbs up on the cover photo!

I saw that too. Even my wife commented on the nice yellow Z on the cover. I was wondering if that belonged to someone from this site, but they never really said who owns it.

Was it 919 yellow with Libres? If so, that was probably the sister mag Classic Motorsports' 240Z project car.

I believe it is Arne, looks like the car. With dark Libres, same paint and stock setup. Appears to be home now in a couple of happy owners garage. I recall that issue of Classic Motorsports Mag with the write up on freshing up that 70.

I was going over the 2008 editorial calendar for Classic Motorsports and it doesn't look like they have plans for any Datsun articles until Jan 2009. It shows something on Classic Datsuns for next year. Hope they can squeeze something in during the year.

It is the classicmotorsports magazines project car. Still owned by the magazine, they do small projects to it now and then as a feature in the mag.

Oh yeah, now I remember seeing that car on their website early last year. They have done a nice job on it.

Yup, that's GRM publisher Tim Suddard's own Z. It doesn't get a lot of press anymore since it's basically done, but it does get used, it's as a really nice 240, and I don't think Tim has any plans to let it go any time soon.

Actually, I think most of the recent stories on it have gone in Classic Motorsports. It was last in the November '07 Classic, where we did a story on giving it some more power.
