Posted February 18, 200817 yr comment_237561 I removed my hood to have it resprayed last week. I observed that one hinge is not as tight as the other. There is some play as if the rivets would be loose but they are tight. I can plat sideways with the hinge part that connect to the hood.Is there a way to fix this hinge looseness? February 18, 200817 yr comment_237563 Is there a way to fix this hinge looseness?Certainly is:)It is called FBH, a Flamin' Big Hammer. Those rivets were probably whacked with a hydraulic press when the hinge was assembled so try it again.Back up the rivet with an anvil or another hammer head.Or you could try squeezing them in a bench vice:cheeky: Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/27085-hood-hinges/#findComment-237563 Share on other sites
February 18, 200817 yr comment_237609 The term in the U.S. of A. is B.F.H.; as in Big F"reaking" Hammer, but the use is the same. You know how you Oz types refer to a Hood as a Bonnet? Well, how do gang members in Australia refer to their home turf?Just asking...E Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/27085-hood-hinges/#findComment-237609 Share on other sites
