February 19, 200817 yr comment_237815 I remember paaing up on buying a similar brochure a few years back (it was $25.) and it had caught my eye as the C-pillar badge was missing. I seem to remember something else in the interior was there as well.Nice find... February 19, 200817 yr Author comment_237818 The interior has no clock or radio, but has a throttle switch.-Mike Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/27116-early-canadian-240z-promotional-poster/?&page=2#findComment-237818 Share on other sites
February 19, 200817 yr comment_237821 After thinking about it, $4325 would be about right with add ons. I am remembering the employee price of $3100. for a '69 Super Bee with only one option, a four speed. It's nice to see prices written on old brochures, to put things in perspective. February 19, 200817 yr comment_237842 I agree with Ron that $4325 probably would include any dealer add-ons (and the dealer mark-ups for a new car). Also, Bank Street Datsun was known to be on the expensive side (I used to drive across town to Don Mann Datsun to buy parts for my 510 because they were less expensive).GWGarrard Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/27116-early-canadian-240z-promotional-poster/?&page=2#findComment-237842 Share on other sites
February 20, 200817 yr comment_237868 Mike,I'll bet John Parker could tell you all about that brochure and it would be worth contacting him about it. John is one of the Datsun Gang and was the original advertising consultant (Parker Advertising, Inc.) for Datsun North America. The e-mail I have for him is johnegerparker at aol. February 20, 200817 yr Author comment_237892 Here is the other early Canadian Brochure that I have. It seems to come up on ebay more often than the poster, though still not as common as the US brochure. Several of the same shots are used in both. There doesn't appear to be a date on this one either. -Mike Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/27116-early-canadian-240z-promotional-poster/?&page=2#findComment-237892 Share on other sites
February 20, 200817 yr comment_237893 Interesting - no sail panel emblems, no radio, no clock, but it states "fully reclining contoured buckets". February 20, 200817 yr Author comment_237894 Maybe they consider the 10 degrees or so on the early seats to be "fully reclining"? It also notes that a 3-speed automatic, clock, and auto-tune radio are options, but I don't think the automatic was available for several months into the 1970 model year. February 20, 200817 yr comment_237931 Hard to tell about the reclining seat from the picture. I don't see a shoulder belt or hook on the seat. I know that the automatic was available at the time. To the best of my knowledge it was not published in America as an option but we got a standard clock and radio. Interesting. July 20, 200816 yr comment_253987 Yeah, that chat kind of made my brain hurt trying to understand it. But I did get that there was fluctuation in the exchange rate during those five years.
