ratonbox Posted January 10, 2009 Share #26 Posted January 10, 2009 Doug, I'm from Craiova, but now i live in Bucharest. It would be interesting to talk to you about bringing a car here. Unfortunately, i don't have too much money right now. But it's a great ideea. Adrian, you mean this year? This isn't a good time for me.. but we could stay in touch if you could bring another container somewhere near the end of 2009, start of 2010. 29pgc10 Posted January 11, 2009 Share #27 Posted January 11, 2009 This will be fun in finding a 240z in eastern europe. I will be moving my lhd 240 to my parents in Poland, so I can take part in some european classic events and from what I know it will be third 240Z there. I am sure there are plenty american cars in lithuania - there are quite a few in poland - hence specialist importers of spares for those. Probably they can import for you what you need. Since you joined in feb 2008, you should realise thet there are quite few cars that can be used for donor parts. Unfortuantely those will be just as unique as the 240 in europe...Somebody posted list of suppliers: if $$$ no issue. Z in europe is no cheap hobby.good luckm.2 fast 2Z: are we discusing a nationalist sentiments here or the Z car? Are you in the right forum? Nigel1943 Posted January 12, 2009 Share #28 Posted January 12, 2009 Don't quote me on this but I think there are around 150 240Z's registered in the UK of which 50 or so are on the road.
adam lancia Posted July 4, 2009 Share #29 Posted July 4, 2009 Hi all, I'm a transplanted Canadian living in Cologne, Germany. I've always liked the earlier Z cars but have never been in a position to purchase one. I'm finally getting around to entering the workforce and have been giving Z's a serious thought. Are there many available in Germany? Also, were any of them ever offered with an automatic transmission? Reason I ask is that I'm a bilateral lower leg amputee and driving a stick is a tiresome and dangerous exercise, especially in the city. I've got a good background in mechanic'ing so I'm pretty confident I can keeping the car in good running shape. If anyone has a link to Germany-specific Z car info that would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks!
Lazeum Posted July 4, 2009 Share #30 Posted July 4, 2009 Hi,You could also expand your search to the rest of Europe. There are some Z as well in France for instance.Regaridng the gearbox, some people in France have swapped their car from auto to manual. So some auto gearbox are available if required if the Z you're looking at is not AT.
ChrisZ Posted July 4, 2009 Share #31 Posted July 4, 2009 Adam, i know of a 240Z up for sale here in Denmark, it's a US import, missing a door and i think it is a stick, but you can follow Lazeum's advice and search for a conversion.Chris
