Posted February 24, 200817 yr comment_238417 My 73 240 had an A/C setup when I bought it. It sat for 10+ years and even though it was still sealed I'm sure it was far from a sound system. The first thing I did when I got the car home was pull the compressor out to make room for working on more essential items. Just curious if anyone knows whether A/C parts for a 240 have any value? The are plenty of parts I need and I'd hate to just toss it out if I could get any value out of it.Thanks Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/27171-240z-ac-parts/ Share on other sites

February 25, 200817 yr Author comment_238567 Its located under the dash just right of the steering wheel. It has one round knob in the middle of a black face. I can take a picture of it if the description isn't specific enough. February 25, 200817 yr comment_238569 Do you have the idler pulley? The one I am looking for was mounted just in front of the fuel pump because the A/C compressor is mounted just infront of and below the carb air filter housing. If you have it, want to sell it, you might PM me a picture if it's not too much trouble. Thanks.Dan Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/27171-240z-ac-parts/#findComment-238569 Share on other sites

February 26, 200817 yr Author comment_238638 Dan,I don't have an idler pulley. Maybe this is an aftermarket setup. The compressor was installed on the passenger side of the block. February 26, 200817 yr comment_238640 It seems to be the same as i have, i was looking for the other type that mounts to the side of the center console. It's probably the same switch. There were several different pods to mount them in different locations. My car is a 78 w/aftermarket a/c but it has the same switch in a pod that mounts on the side of the console at the base of the dash. February 29, 200817 yr comment_238991 I paid $100 for a complete A/C unit from a 73 240z about 3 months ago. It is one of the dealer after market units that was very popular. It checked out to be in very good condition. It did not have the harmonic balancer, but everything else was there. I thought it was a fair price.Bob M Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/27171-240z-ac-parts/#findComment-238991 Share on other sites
