rdefabri Posted February 13, 2009 Share #14 Posted February 13, 2009 Old thread, but referred here from the thread on the dealer sticker. This would be cool if we could track where our cars were sold. I know Nissan doesn't have that info, but I was able to get this from Jaguar for my E-Type (heritage certificate)...oh well

If you have your original owners manual it is probably in there. Two of my cars have the original manuals and it has the dealer information filled out.-Mike

don356 Posted February 13, 2009 Share #17 Posted February 13, 2009 anyone have any idea where the numberical prefix is for the dealers? i was trying to make a repro window sticker for my car and noticed on one that was posted from 1973 that it had a 568A before the dealer. this doesn't correspond with the 6 digit number in the dealer listed posted above. Mike B Posted February 14, 2009 Share #18 Posted February 14, 2009 this doesn't correspond with the 6 digit number in the dealer listed posted above.I'm not sure which 6 digit number you are referring to. The 5 digit number next to the city name (in bold) is the zip code.-Mike
don356 Posted February 15, 2009 Share #19 Posted February 15, 2009 you are correct. i didn't notice that. the code i was referring to was on the window sticker that was posted on the other forum on repro window stickers. i haven't found anything on that 3 digit one alpha code. FastWoman Posted November 20, 2009 Share #22 Posted November 20, 2009 That was fun. I looked up the dealership from my childhood home in Texas -- "Dotson Datsun." I remember the corny commercialsCome in to Dotson Datsun...... or Datsun Dotson... er... or whatever it is ...Of course Datsuns and foreign cars in general were mysterious, unknown, and generally untrusted, so they were trying to establish a name. sblake01 Posted November 20, 2009 Share #23 Posted November 20, 2009 When I posted in this old thread on 03-07-2008, I knew where my dealership directory was. Today... I have no clue...

I know Nissan doesn't have that info, ...You do know that? Actually, I called 1-800-NISSAN1 just last week to obtain additional info. on one of my Zs. They had to pull the records from their archives, but called me the following day and provided me with the info. they had, as well as the name and phone number of the dealer who originally sold my car.A few years ago, I was able to obtain info. from Nissan on my 1973 240Zs too. It took them a few extra days to get the records from their archives, but they did have it.
