Posted March 10, 200817 yr comment_240078 I just covered my dash with a carbon fiber vinyl and put on some Speedhut gauge covers. What do you guys think of the new look?<a href="http://s183.photobucket.com/albums/x304/clayton260Z/?action=view¤t=zcar030.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i183.photobucket.com/albums/x304/clayton260Z/zcar030.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a><a href="http://s183.photobucket.com/albums/x304/clayton260Z/?action=view¤t=zcar031.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i183.photobucket.com/albums/x304/clayton260Z/zcar031.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a><a href="http://s183.photobucket.com/albums/x304/clayton260Z/?action=view¤t=zcar034.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i183.photobucket.com/albums/x304/clayton260Z/zcar034.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a><a href="http://s183.photobucket.com/albums/x304/clayton260Z/?action=view¤t=zcar032.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i183.photobucket.com/albums/x304/clayton260Z/zcar032.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a><a href="http://s183.photobucket.com/albums/x304/clayton260Z/?action=view¤t=zcar033.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i183.photobucket.com/albums/x304/clayton260Z/zcar033.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a> Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/27314-just-covered-dash-and-new-gauge-face-plates/ Share on other sites

March 10, 200817 yr comment_240091 Pictures load fine for me.While I will admit that neither the faux-fiber nor the gauge faces are to my taste, it certainly looks like you did a decent job. Nice fit on the dash cover.Hey! That's a Series 1 steering wheel on a 260Z! That's a different look. March 10, 200817 yr comment_240093 Looks like someone glued a pair of jeans to the dash. But hey....I'm old school with a purist streak, what do I know! If it works for you, that's all that matters. March 10, 200817 yr comment_240099 Nice work. You should post it up on HybridZ, they have a thread about covering dashes,http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=124146 Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/27314-just-covered-dash-and-new-gauge-face-plates/#findComment-240099 Share on other sites
March 11, 200817 yr comment_240176 Clay, The interior looks great!, I mean the whole interior. I have neither the talent or money to accomplish that. How long does it take to cut out a patten and sew something that large? The blue of the gauge lights stands out nicely and would appear to be easy on the eyes at night. Two Snaps Up! March 14, 200817 yr comment_240555 Im not quite sure about the dash covering myself but I do aplaud your efforts. I do have aa soft spot for the speedhut gauges though, I bought a set myself a couple months ago. I havent installed them as yet, working too much, too cold to work in my garage.I do have a question though about installation. On my set, there are only 4 connectors into the dimmer switch. Each smaller guage is a seperate plug in and the tach and speedo are spliced together going into the 4th plug. That makes it impossible to install the tach and speedo from the front and I can only think I have to cut and splice to get it installed. Can you shed some light? March 14, 200817 yr comment_240565 Not too thrilled about the dash cover, but it's all up to the owner right? But the gauges look very nice!
