Everything looks good to me.

Awesome too :) !

Only saw one thing though.

The center counsel arm rest cover looks crooked from the back as

in pic #13, try and fix if you can though.

And did you change the muffler from the curl down type as in

pic #5 and #6 to the straight out style like in pic #22 and 33?

5 and 6.

Other than that I also agree with going with all black floor mats or carpet,

close up pics of the rocker panels and roof and lastly mention what kind of

exhuast set up you have.

A sound clip or well shot video might be a good idea also, after all we

all love the sound of exhaust noises :D

Good luck to ya, she'll sell fo sho.

Put the luggage straps back in.. and retake the picture

The side of the dash "looks" like it has orange overspray - fix that. (or use 24 of 36 and photoshop the orange glow out - as long as it really isn't there to begin with)

The door panels have HOLES cut in them - that will hurt the sale.. Your call as to replace them or not.

Lose the half dash cap - it looks to much like a cheap fix.... and makes people wonder what else you cheap screwed. Just tell people the dash is cracked as usual.

Battery Area - Did you remove the surface rust - and repaint as necessary? (ah I see in 34 of 36 that you cleaned it up..

32 of 36

72 Carb's with 73 air cleaner...

No battery hold down??? - return to OEM!!

Get the shock tower plastic caps in place or explain that the shocks are adjustable...

16, 17, 18 of 36 are good detail shots to use in the E-Bay Ad....

You need better close up's of the rear deck threshold, the doglegs/rockers....

Use:

04 of 36 = Front View

05 of 36 = Rear View

07 of 36=Right Side View

08 of 36= Left Side View

Reserve = $14,500.00

Buy-it-now = $17,500.00

Carl,

I was hoping you would lend a hand.....THANK YOU!

I will more than likely address all these items..(maybe not the door panels) and then move forward with the sale.

I am the third owner and have the PO to thank for the dash cap and speakers in the door.....oh well.

Thanks again for all the advice.

Carl,

I think Randy's car looks to be in very good shape, but those prices sound kind of high for a 1973 with a cracked dash and door panels that need to be replaced. An uncracked dash is at least $1000 and new door panels are $600 or more. I don't recall seeing what the mileage on the car was, but I thought that 1973s were somewhat less valuable than other 240z's due to the the emission changes that year. I think it would also be important to include some shots of the floors with the carpets removed.

Good points...

but remember this car sold for a Buy-it-now of $13,500.00.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/71-DATSUN-240-Z-COLD-AC-Finance-Shipping_W0QQitemZ180206914634QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item180206914634#ebayphotohosting

I know it sold, I know who bought it, and I inspected it for the buyer - even told him I didn't think it was worth that much - he did and he was tired of looking at rust buckets

Mally02's Z is in far better condition overall - even with the few flaws. Hard to believe but good 240-Z's are getting very hard to find - and when you do find one you can expect to pay for it.

Get the right bidders involved and it should bring at least the reserve... if not .. sell it later..

FWIW,

Carl B.

It seems I remember it but also a yellow one.

I'm kinda sleepy so I don't remember.

Mally002---

I agree with Mike and Cark about the door panels. and yes remove the dash cap, try to rustle up some cargo straps, etc. While none of these individually is problematic, the sum leaves an interested buyer wondering "what else?".

You didn't mention the documentation, if any, that you have to go with it.

It is a very nice car as has been said , has some flaws as has been discussed, and is sure to bring great interest. But if you've got documentation to go with it similar to the car Carl just posted you've got a big plus. It may be less important to some but there are those that it will mean a great deal.

Original owners manuals, "ProtectoPlate" card, window sticker/invoice, brochures etc. all really add to an unusually nice package that will command top dollar.

The biggest detriment that I see is that most, if not all of us, responding here are already quite deep in a project and couldn't easly justify an additional purchase. It would be nice for many if we could turn the clock back and have started with such a nice car! Fulfilling the advice "start with the best car you can find/afford", as given by Carl and others, your car is a big winner.

All the best of luck if you decide to sell. If you don't you're getting an "appraisal by committee" that seems pretty rare in it's own way, and that appears unanamously "thumbs-up".

Carl's opinions alone may bump it a grand!! ROFL
