Well, I everything taken off of the motor. Going to be renting a engine hoist from Autozone here soon to get my motor pulled.

I know that I want to get my head taken in so that the valves can be ported for 280z valves, and am thinking that I am just going to take the entire engine in to get machined, plus go a head and get the carbs rebuilt.

Though, I want to take my engine to a place were they know what they are doing, especially with the L series engine. Does anyone know of a place around here that specializes in rebuilding and machining L engines?

Atlanta, Nashville, Knoxville, Birmingham, ect. is all fine by me.

I'll ask around here on Friday, but as Bruce said Zbarn should be able to take care of the carbs at the least.

If you find someone also let me know, that is always good information to have.

PS....Bruce, the area code here is 865......

Z Barn is basically a Z/Datsun junkyard, from what I understand. I've talked to Roger a couple of times trying to find parts for my 810. Very knowlegable individual. I think the reason that Bruce referred you to him is because he knows the Datsun trade down there and if anyone can direct you, he can.

How about about "Balanced Performance".

They are in the Atlanta area and have a connection to "Sunbelt".

There was a write-up on a project zcar in Classic Motorsports magazine featuring them and what they did to the car.

This might be good reference for the set-up you are talking about re: cams.

There is also a company in Birmingham called "Paeco Industries".

They have an extensive list of services and engine kits/parts.

I have not had first hand experience with either though.
