Posted March 13, 200817 yr comment_240542 My wheel cylinder (rear, driver's side) is leaking like a sieve. So of course I want to replace it. None of the stores here have them in stock at the moment, so I'm just going to order one myself. Before I do, though, just wanted to link y'all to pictures of the ones I might get just to make sure they're right. It says it's for my 74 260Z, but I just want to double check.http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/details/QQNissanQQ260ZQQRaybestosQQWheel_CylinderQQ1974QQWC37305.htmlhttp://info.rockauto.com/RB/Detail2noTip.html?http://www.dormanproducts.com/images/items/hwrap1/p7250684.jpgThe first one looks a bit different and doesn't have the adjuster (?) that the Dorman one has. Would either of them be safe to get?And here's the Beck/Arnley one: http://info.rockauto.com/BeckArnley/Detail.html?0722520.jpg Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/27357-wheel-cylinder-leaking/ Share on other sites
March 14, 200817 yr comment_240548 The first 1 is a bit bare, no E brake lever or ratchet adjuster. The last 2 look similar and come with what is missing from 1.Do your current wheel cylinders have the ratchet adjuster?I would suggest they do.If you get #1 you will have to re-use the ratchet mechanism and E-brake lever from your current cylinder providing they fit:nervous:For $ value I would suggest #2 or #3, you get all the relevant bits. March 14, 200817 yr comment_240549 BBB and ripoff report are two good places to check before ordering. Use a REAL credit card and not a bank card if you want a decent chance of getting your money back should things go wrong. The autoparts warehouse site reminds me of an I-net business I got burned at some time ago. Upon doing a BBB search they are also called "Parts Train"?? Seems like it might be good to steer clear of them.Rockauto seems to have good reviews. Before any online ordering I would call and verify that they actually have the part. I went to order a part for my Z which they seemed to have according to the 'net. Upon calling and asking for them to check and see if they had it they found they didn't.2cJim Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/27357-wheel-cylinder-leaking/#findComment-240549 Share on other sites
March 14, 200817 yr Author comment_240550 The ones on there now don't appear to have the adjusters, which is why I thought I'd need to go with #1, but I reckon it'd be better with the adjustor, so I guess go with #2 for the leaky side and #3 for the other? (the Becks are on sale at RockAuto....just not the side I need. Might as well get it though)Thanks for the input! Just got back from Oz; lived there for a couple of years. Hope all's well there.---------Yeah, I got that vibe about autopartswarehouse too. March 14, 200817 yr comment_240583 They are still available at Nissan and you will know that the parts are correct. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/27357-wheel-cylinder-leaking/#findComment-240583 Share on other sites
