What Type of Mirror is This?

I think they were factory stock on some 260 & 280Z's. I'm thinking a pair of these might look "cleaner" than the MSA black pearl repros.

Do you know if they are still available? Any issues installing these mirrors on a 240?

Those are the factory 260Z/280Z mirrors. Yes they are still available, and I suspect they should fit on a 240Z just fine. But they never offered a matching right side mirror in that style. Only the driver's side.

Thanks for the info. I thought I'd sen right side mirors in that style. Perhaps it was just wishful thinking... Bummer. Guess I'll have to consider other options...

They are stock for the later S30 in some markets. (eg USA, France).

So there is noway to get a Right side mirror just like this one? I have a 75 280z that has this particular mirror on the Left side and would like a matching mirror for the passenger side. The PO had put a mirror on the right side and drilled holes in the door :mad:! But he sold it to me without a mirror. So I either have to find a match for the right side, by a different set, or patch the wholes. May get some of the classic round chrome mirrors from MSA if they don't make the RH mirror.

You'll probably have to build your own. I am still working on it with the 240Z mirrors-patterns are done, but I haven't found a source for the hardware-other than sacrificing OEM mirrors-and I haven't got the crimping of the glass worked out(I have a couple of threads on it).

The first pic is a real car, the second is an artist rendering but that is the stock mirror. Where did get the notion that it isn't. The one thing I hate about the Datsun hobby is all the heresay, opinion not based on fact, repetition of what someone 'heard somewhere', etc. That mirror has been discussed many times, on this thread and others. And there is no right side version of it but IT IS STOCK! Intersting that you throw something like that out in your first post on this site.

96302-N4700 is the OEM part number. Though I've not tried to order one, it still shows as a valid number.

I recently changed from the stock mirror to the chrome ones you mentioned. They are nice, and from what I've heard are the best mirrors MSA has to offer.

I called MSA today and they currently don't know if they are going to continue to carry these mirrors. They are waiting to hear from their supplier. They took them off their website for the time being. :mad:

They told me to check back in a week or so.
