Ebay for Z Cars

Help! I need some people to test out the site. If you register I can credit money to your account so you can place ads for free. Just a test phase right now to see if anyone has any problems placing items for sale. We will start marketing it heavily in a few weeks.

thats awsome, but will this site garuntee the same way that E-Bay does. This is just in case somone really gets scammed and gets one messed up car

What I think would be more helpful is a site that goes through all the ebay auctions and lists them in catagories like you show on your page. The Z car parts on Ebay get spread around over many catagories that aren't directly related to Z's. I usually search "240Z" or "Datsun" and find most of them, but they're aren't split up in catagories. If there were a site that would do the searching for me I'd check it all the time!

One problem with making a new auction site is that it's hard to get lots of people to register and check it. The whole world is already using ebay so you know you'll get the best selling price.

True but even Ebay had to start somewhere. If you look at sites such as this site, zcar.com, zhome.com I think there are plenty of z car owners out there interested in a site specifically for z parts.

We have hundreds of items to post so I think once we get most of them up there it would generate more interest. Right now we just want to make sure the site functions properly for users placing items, bidding etc.

Site looks cool, but be careful of one thing: You have the word "ebay" in your title/logo/name.

This could get the attention of the folks at E-Bay and cause you problems. If you aren't PART or a Subsidiary of them you could find yourself in legal trouble.

Although the name is becoming a common use word, you will find that the lawyers love this kind of challenge. Case in point, there is a woman in Oregon by the name of Samantha Buck who has a coffee shop down the street from a Starbuck's. The name of her coffee shop? Sam Buck's. The lawyers for Starbucks HAVE sued her to change the name of her establishment, AND they won!

Their argument is that the name is close enough to their clients to delude consumers into thinking they are entering a Starbucks.

Besides the cost of the litigation and the hazzle, you don't want to find out that the law protects them and not you.

Yeah some arab dudes hacked into it. They are on the ABC News web site for hacking into and destroying sites based in the United States. Some people just have too much free time.
