August 21, 200222 yr comment_13663 Tony, assumming that you have all the parts and tools you will need for this job. I'm gonna estimate atleast 5-6 hours start to finish. Have fun! August 21, 200222 yr comment_13682 I replaced the clutch in my '72. Took it out by myself and had my brother help me put it back in, someone had to bench press that transmission up in place. I figure it took about 6 hours. Thats with taking the fly wheel off and also installing a roller sleeve and putting a SS line on. Transmission slipped right in place thanks to the alignment tool, a definate must to have from what I understand. August 21, 200222 yr comment_13685 There is no need to purchase an alinement tool. I made in 1970 a tool out of a broom stick handle and formed the pilot bearing end with a belt sander and wood chisel! This was for my Ford Cortina. Since then I have use the same tool on a Dodge, USA Ford and 620 Pickup. I adjusted the size by rapping tape around the where it is needed. I once could not find the tool and used a highlighter with the cap removed rapped with elec tape. This was used on my sons 510.
