March 21, 200817 yr comment_241414 You mean the stainless drip moldings? Probably a dealer item, assuming they're still available at all. I've got a couple spare sets, but shipping them without damaging them could be a problem. March 22, 200817 yr comment_241425 I see them on eBay fairly often, but the shipping isue stated above is the main concern. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/27461-roof-chrome-trim-pieces-240z/#findComment-241425 Share on other sites
March 22, 200817 yr Author comment_241429 yes, the drip moulding is it. i forgot the term. i'll check with my local dealers and see if i get lucky. i just picked up a 240 that is in outstanding condition, but the passenger side has a slight dent in it and i was going to try and replace it. i guess when that is your main concern on one of these bodies you're doing pretty well. who are your main sources for parts in general? March 22, 200817 yr comment_241430 If the dent is slight, try your hand at repairing it yourself. You have nothing to lose. I have had great results on many stainless pieces. If you attempt it, don't hammer or strike it with anything, just use pressure from the backside with an instrument you have fashioned to do the job. Make sure the piece is supported on the face. Take your time and slowly work it into shape being careful not to go too far. When you are satisfied with the dent removal you can then bring the luster back by using graduating grits of wet sanding paper and then polishing compound. That's just what I would do. March 22, 200817 yr comment_241435 I got a spare set as well....the project car I am working on will have the drip rails cut off (owners request) and then I have set taking up space. But as Arne pointed out shipping would be a problem.
