Nice new antenna switch made by Dave

For the past year or so, I've been trying to track down this antenna switch that fits into the center console blank spot and haven't had any luck. I got the part number for it and tried to order off Nissan.cc's website, but got a notice back a few days later that they were now obsolete. I wanted this exact one because I wouldn't have any other place to mount a switch. I tried Ebay, one went for about the same amount of money I could have bought a new antenna for! Any how, I got talking to Dave about antenna switches and he mentioned that he could make me one out of my blank plate so I sent him it him earlier this week and he got it done the day he got it!

Any how, turned out wonderfully and it's sure nice to have a power antenna now! Thanks again Dave!!

Austin,

Well that figures. Oh well, think of it this way, 1) you got a switch that works, 2) it doesn't take up any other space other than the space that was meant for the antenna switch 3) now you have a plate that you can add another switch to if you decide to instal Fog or driving lights.

Take that Stephen....LOL LOL

Come on Dave. I'm not knocking what you did. You know more about electronics than I could ever dream of. I actually bought those switches with the intention of putting one in my 810 since a replacement 810 console antenna switch is non existant. Then I found one at a Datsun swap meet for 2 bucks! The guy didn't know what it was but I recognized it as an 810 part immediately. I bought those switches in the picture last April. They might have been the last two switches that Nissanparts.cc had.

I found a working switch the other day in the local pocket...errr pick your part. The only problem is that the base is broken so it does not secure to the console. Does anyone have a spare base plate for the switch? I would really appreciate one. Thanks in advance.

I know, Silly. That's what the LOL LOL were there for. As a joke. Good find though.

Dave do you know where the power switch was originally located on a "72"? I have a rinky dink switch mounted on the pass. side of the console by the radio, but I would love to have one placed in it's original location. Any thoughts?....

Thanks a heep....

That explains where my crappy switch is then. Bill must have moved it when he installed this old radio (works pretty good though and I don't have to worry about someone breaking in the rip it off) and used a toggle switch mounted on the side. The plastic on the toggle broke off though...heh.....

Thanks Arne....

My switch is located on the side of the console drivers side up near the radio. Dave do you have a picture of your switch on your console. I would like to switch to your type of switch on the center of the console.

It just sits right next to the hazard switch.
