Just picked up my first Z project. I have had a 280ZX and a 300Z turbo in the past but those were just transient cars. Neither lasted more than 3 months in my stable.
My new Z though has been in my sights for more than 20 years. A neighbor had it in his garage after stripping in down for a paint job that he never finished. I moved away and returned to this town a year ago and the car was still in his garage. A deal was made and the car is now mine.
It is a 1975 280Z. White Black interior 4 speed A/C
It has been repainted with the exception of the hood. The hood is in primer.
So far I have removed the gas tank with 20 year old gas. Too bad gas does not age like Scotch! I have freed up the fuel pump and will replace the rubber fuel lines.
The car came with NOS weather stripping, seals, bumpers and bumper rubber. The engine appears to have had some work done to the top end in it's 143K miles. It has a header but no other external mods that I can see.
I think that I will start a thread with a log of the progress of the project if there is interest.
