i had been looking into nissan's and a guy i work with bought this z with the intention of fixing it up, but never had the time. new to datsun scene, i've been an early honda hatchback lover so far. i'm clueless when it comes to rwd, heh, and datsun's. downloaded a service manual, electrical fueal injection manual, and a wiring schematic. been reading a lot past couple of days! picked it for $200 although it does not run. see the electrical forum to see the ghettoness, and help me try and get this beast running to start things off...

You have a major problem here. You are likely going to need a new wiring harness. What someone has done , it appears , is bypassed burned out fusible links. Like eliminating circuit breakers in your house. There is like a short somewhere and in a attempt to get the Z going they just eliminated the fuse. Best of luck with this, but you might start asking around and see if you can come up with another complete harness. Try Kim Blough at Idaho Z Car. 208 466 0004 Smokyyaro@velocitus.net If you can make contact I am fairly sure he will have what is needed. All the best . Gary

What a mess. Some people always look for the easy way instead of fixing the problem properly. Seems like you care about the car. I would definitely take Gary's advise and replace the harness. Just from the photos, the car looks to be in decent shape. Good luck and hope it turns out well....
