Posted April 4, 200816 yr comment_242921 I have been searching for correct replacement decals for my Z, and thought I found one for the 1972 emissions decal from Zeddsaver...But, my part number on the original is 14805-e8801 while the one I purchased is e8800. There's obvious differences in text, see the attached pics below. Everyone else (Zeddfindings, Banzai, MSA) sells emission decals for 1970 and 1971, but not 1972, Anyone know around what date they changed the part number? April 4, 200816 yr comment_242933 Since the 8801 has specs for an exhaust gas analyzer, there may be a Nissan TSB that gives the date of the change. Maybe some one who has a library of the bulletins could look that up for you? April 4, 200816 yr Author comment_242934 ...that's what I'm hoping for! I sent a copy of each to Banzai Motorworks, so maybe he can get some reproductions going for 1972 M/Y Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/27616-emissions-sticker-for-1972/#findComment-242934 Share on other sites
April 4, 200816 yr comment_242977 I don't know if this will help or not. TS72-11 which was issued for all models on March 3, 1972. It deals with and includes a revised pre-pasted page to replace page EC-45 of "Service Manual, Emission Control System for 1972 Year Models, Revised Edition". This manual may contain dated information. I will look to see if this manual is among the ones I have, but I don't recall coming across a revised emissions manual. I have a technical training manual for 1972 Emissions, but thats about it I think. The only other TSB from 1972 dealing with Emissions that I found was TS72-90 dated August 25, 1972, which deals with tooling and test proceedures for two & three vane air pumps. I have not found anything specific to the emissions labels. These are multi-paged TSBs. If you would like scans send me a PM with an email address. April 4, 200816 yr Author comment_242982 Hi Ron, I'm not so much interested in the TSB itself. I'm trying to figure out if my purchased replacement is a faithful recreation of an earlier version from 1972, or just improvised. If there's some literature or p/n from a TSB or other update, then I'd feel a little better. Regardless, the 8800 is not correct for 5/72 and later, so maybe if someone could check their early 1972-late 1971 emission sticker I could (A) verify the accuracy of the e8800 sticker and ( get an idea of what date range we're working in. April 4, 200816 yr comment_243002 Steve, There is an old thread you may want to check. It is "How Close Are Our Vin #s". You may find someone with a car very close to yours, give him a PM to see if they have the decal. Good Luck.Dan Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/27616-emissions-sticker-for-1972/#findComment-243002 Share on other sites
