Damn, there's just too many! Unfortunately for my poor family, nothing short of Jay Leno's collection would satisfy me!

However, not unlike Carl - Ferraris have long been my passion and what I dreamed as a kid. My first car memories are of my Dad's 1966 Austin-Healey...a beautiful car that hooked me on European qualities (e.g., small, light, usually smaller displacement, higher revving engines).

As my family are Italian (my Grandparents immigrated to the US), I quickly discovered Italian cars, and Ferraris were it to say the least. I'd say the GTO and the 275 GTB were my favorites, although as I've aged the list has grown considerably.

When I was a kid, I always wanted a 57 Chevy. My dad had one and my earliest memories of riding around with the family were in that car. My dad also had a 57 Renault Dauphine (with a Judson supercharger!). But I never wanted one of those. He was always tinkering with it, something I never saw him do with the American cars he owned. Maybe that's where my interest in smaller cars began. As I got older and reached the point where I could have one (a 57 Chevy), my tatse in cars had changed. Of the nearly 50 cars I've owned since then, none were 57 Chevys.

For me it was, (in order):

7 years old: 1960 red MGA (had one I restored for 17 years)

13 years old: 1953 silver Jag XK (no longer want one)

17 years old: Ferrari 246 Dino (will never be able to afford one)

20 years old, (college): silver 240Z (got my 1st 240Z when I was 23)

54 years old: I'm back in the game restoring my 3rd 240Z.

Lamborghini. My first love was the old Countach 5000S. That was the first Sports car model I ever built, the damn kit cost me $30 and it had over 300 peices. Then they came out with the Diablo VT and I drooled for a week straight.

If I'm ever rich, I will own a VT.

Dave.

Jag E-Type. Only the Series 1 with covered headlights will do. Either 3.8 or 4.2 Litre, I don't car. I still lust after those, but will never happen. Those cars have just gotten too far out of reach for my income.

1961 Series 1, 3.8 XKE Roadster, green/tan that I still drive occasionaly. My wifes brother restores, collects them and also has one built for track use. I never feel more alive than when driving one of these cars. As a youngster I lusted after the Ferraris.

Ditto. Ferraris by far have always and will always be my most fav. Lamborghini are in the mix too....

The Ferrari 250 GTO is probably the car I covet the most though. I love the older Alfa's as well. My list could go on forever....

I was raised around MG's, and to this day I blame my father for my love of finicky, hard to find parts for cars. (He happily accepts the blame with a chuckle.) We had many, but I loved our TF. The J2 that was to be mine was sadly sold before we completed the restoration of it...

I remember seeing my first Z car, though I couldn't tell you what year the car was. I loved the recessed headlights, and since I didn't know what kind of car it was, I started looking. Mistakenly I thought it was a Ferrari Dino, but for a kid of 9 years (who only saw the Z once) it's a fairly logical jump. Hence my introduction to Ferraris, and love of the designs (but not all of them).

James Bond enters my life with a gorgeous DB5. Wow, and the bulletproof plate would have been on my option list (along with the ejector seat).

The XKE...drool...

My Grandma's Riviera... I still wish I had been able to get that car before she traded it in.

It was about that time that I found out what a Z car was.

And rediscovered Jaguar in the form of the XJS (the earlier years-not a 1990 + model...ford taurus heater controls...in a Jag?!?!).

Then of course there was the Lancia Stratos, Bricklin,...
