Posted April 10, 200817 yr comment_243589 I'm trying to replace the front seal on my 5-speed and I've taken the 5 transmission front cover bolts off but the darn cover will not budge. I looked in the FSM and it should come off after removing the bolts, but no dice. I've tried heating it up a bit and prying every which-way I can, but still nothing. It's hard to get in to get a good pry-point because it's inside the bell housing.Any help? Thanks Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/27680-transmission-front-cover-stuck/ Share on other sites
April 10, 200817 yr comment_243625 If you are confidant that you have removed all the necessary fasteners.......:paranoid:Try clamping the bell housing face down onto a flat surface like a benchtop, or back onto an engine block and wriggling the rest of the box to work it loose. April 12, 200817 yr Author comment_243872 That won't work. The cover is inside the bellhousing. It's the newer style trans with an integral bellhousing.
