I live in Florida - I eliminated the vapor recovery system. I really didn't need the gasoline vapors leaking into the cabin.

Note the 90 degree bend made with copper plumbing fittings - very important to do. If you don't the rubber hose will kink... and you won't be able to fill the upper part of the tank. Also important to replace the plastic connector between the vent line and fuel filler with a copper tube. The plastic cracks with age.

A couple of diagrams from an earlier discussion - that I can't seem to find right now, are below FYI. This keeps the air/vapor return from the front of the car to the tank.

Thanks for all the info!!! the Tank and straps are down to bare metal and awaiting me to have time to paint it. I will be picking up all of the hoses and tubing for the rest of this project today. The only bump I have hit at this point is that the gas supply tube coming out of the tank (the lower of the 2 next to the sending unit) is completly clogged. any ideas on how to unclog this would be great! I was thinking of using acetone or something similar to loosen up the crud inside of it. Any info from you all would really help

Can the vapor tank be eliminated from a fuel injected 280z?

The drivers side is in pretty good shape... no visable rust for now.:paranoid:

The hatch has alot of sap from the pine that grew into my car while it slept on the side of my dads house:dead:

The passenger side does have some rust behind the door. This side of the car was deeper in the dirt than the drivers side. :stupid:

I had already taken the panel off on the passenger side to get to the expansion tank before i remembered the camera:o

unfortunatly i had already shop vac'd the tree debris and dirt off the car by the time i started taking pic's of the car. I also had pretty well cleaned up the entire engine compartment:stupid:

i gotta lot of really random stuff out from under the bonnet, wish i had pic's now... but hindsight is 20/20 right?
