Posted April 19, 200816 yr comment_244620 Hey all.....My name is Chris.... not really sure what to say here.I've always wanted a "Z", but never seemed to find the time or car that grabbed my attention. That all changed recently..... I was scrolling through a local "used.com" site and found a guy that is selling 4 1974-1978 "Z" cars. His father bought them all from the local Datsun dealer where he was a mechanic. I'm kinda stoked, but not sure what I need to look at...as in which one would be the better buy. I'm almost toying with buying all 4, just because! The one I first saw, and spent most of the time drooling over is a 1974 260Z in a real nice dark blue metallic...Not sure what all the different engine specs and such are that you guys talk about.....but I'll get there!I would really appreciate any input you all could give me B4 I make my move/decision....Thanks in advance,Chris Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/27779-new-to-the-z-world/ Share on other sites

April 19, 200816 yr Author comment_244622 Thank you. I see that they changed to FI the following year. How efficient and reliable is the FI system? would it be worth looking into a change over? I see there are LOTS of other options to look at as well.... April 19, 200816 yr comment_244624 The Datsun EFI can be reliable if the components are in good shape and you know the system but I wouldn't suggest swapping it over to a non EFI car. That's been discussed many times here. Much more work than you'd imagine. April 19, 200816 yr comment_244638 Welcome!Everything-well, almost everything-you could want to know about an early Z car can be found at www.ZHOME.com. Most of it is in one form or another here in our archives as well, but www.ZHome.com is more of a repository, and less of a conversation, and in the Z world we need both-the conversation changes, but the info stays the same! Will Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/27779-new-to-the-z-world/#findComment-244638 Share on other sites
