I have had the car for a week and im just know starting to fix the little problems and this is one that NEEDS to be fixed so I can drive it. Sooo what do i need to do??? April 20, 200817 yr comment_244670 Sounds to me that there is a leak in the temp mix valve, between the heater blower and the firewall, on the passenger side of the climate control in the console. Just follow the hose(s) from the passenger side of the block, through the firewall. You may also have misplaced air tubes (thick construction-like paper conduit for directing the blown air) to the registers. April 20, 200817 yr comment_244676 I'm not familiar with the 76 HCP, but in the Series I and II (pre-260) there was no way of getting heated air out of the center or the eyeball vents unless it was very VERY hot outside or the car had been in the sun all day. Both the Center and Eyeball vents were for fresh air only.Heated air from the Heater Core was only available through the Defrost Vents or to the "Room" flaps on the side of the plenum. It may be that the later style 76 or even 260 + changed that, but someone needs to verify that.2¢E Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/27781-heater/#findComment-244676 Share on other sites

April 20, 200817 yr comment_244719 Yes the floor is damp....Possible leaking heater core, leaking heater valve, or one or both of the hoses that connect to the heater valve. April 21, 200817 yr comment_244800 I saw the photos in your gallery. Fun job, isn't it? So the core is the source of the leak. Are you going to take it to a radiator shop? I ask because when I did mine, I tried that but it fell a part when he tried to disassemble it and I ended up having to buy a new one. Hopefully, your luck will be better. April 21, 200817 yr comment_244836 Not to add to the pain but it might be wise to replace the water valve while you have everything apart as well.77 280Zhttp://s38.photobucket.com/albums/e106/babry27/77%20Datsun%20Restoration/?start=all Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/27781-heater/#findComment-244836 Share on other sites
