I have a 1983 280 all stock. The car was parked for about 6 years due to clutch failure. I now have the engine running and was going to replace clutch. I have not worked or owned a nissian befor and was wanting so input on clutches to buy or to stay away from. The car is stock and I see no plans to change anytime soon. I also plan on changing the input,and throw out bearing, slave cylinder and master cylinder. Thanks ahead of time for the help. I sure I will be asking alot of questions during getting this thing road ready again.

I have had at least 4 different clutches in my car in the last 10 years.

What you really need to ask yourself is "do I plan any performance upgrades and how hard am I going to drive?" I started with a stock replacement which started to fail shortly after the break in period. I upgraded from the stock replacement with a stg 1 clutch (don't remember the brand), it failed about a year later. If you are just looking for a good upgrade with a soft pedal go for the Centerforce Dual Friction clutch. I had that one for a few years (not strong enough for a hard driven, modified car), it was a good all around clutch. I'm running a Spec 4 puck race clutch now. The Spec clutch is a little harsh but I like it for my style of driving.

The car is stock and is going to stay that way. I have different car that I play with and drive HARD. I looked at the Centerforce Dual set up and also the Zoom, but I have never ran either. Thanks for your input

Just get a TRUE Nissan replacement clutch. Try Courtesy Nissan (www.courtesyparts.com) for the clutch kit.

Otherwise I would look at ACT or Spec, but both of those would be overkill for your setup as would a Centerforce Dual friction.

I am running an ACT heavy duty pressure plate and street disk in my car with over 360 flywheel ft-lbs.

Found a complete kit clutch, pressure plate throw out bearing,and pilot bearing for 150 + tax from a Nissian dealer in town the parts guy said it was "dead stock". Think I will go with it. Thanks for the input.
