IGNORED

No start condition

Recommended Posts

O.K. I got the car started and running about two days ago. Started the car rolled of the trailer and into shop. Jacked it up to start on the clutch. found the slave cylinder was down. Install new slave and master cylinder. Bled system and tried to start, would not start. Checked and found fuel pump not coming on. Hook pump to a outside source pump works, good flow to fuel rails I did not have a way to check pressure, but the supply hose would get stiff(redneck I know) Next checked for spark, coil was firing and showed to have fire at plugs(checked the shade tree way, screwdriver). Checked the fuses. Started checking injectors would not flash a noid light. Both wires were showing 2.0V. Can anyone think of anything I might of missed? or what to check next? Thanks for any help. Sorry for such a long post, but there is no such thing as to much info.:ermm:

I'm assuming it's a 280z? ... or at least that you've got the sense to post about a Z car on the Z car forums ... therefore when talking about injectors, the 280z (L28) is probably the only car you could be talking about.

Anyway, are your injector connectors a bit on the dirty side? If so this can make an enormous difference... furthermore, you really ought to check that fuel pressure with a meter. The Bosch system gets a bit fussy if you can't maintain 36 psi.

In this general vein, get on top of checking all of your electricals ... one bad connection to a sensor can mean the difference between starting and stalling.

I also happen to agree with you: no such thing as too much info. :)

for what it is worth found the problem to be with some poor wiring at the battery witch supplies voltage to the 2 relays. The manual I printed called for one relay in the kick panel of the car . manuel is for a 1975, on the 83 I have they are in the fender on pass. side next to battery and they are two seperate relays not one big one. Thanks guys.
