April 23, 200817 yr comment_244998 Umm, the copper tube is what makes it work. I think you need a new one. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/27825-heater-valve/#findComment-244998 Share on other sites

April 23, 200817 yr comment_245005 It either lets hot water into the heater core or bypasses it depending on where it's set. Without the tube intact you'll either have heat all of the time or not at all or somewhere inbetween depending where it was when the tube broke but you wont have control of that without the tube. April 23, 200817 yr Author comment_245006 Is there a more simple newer way of doing this??? Im affraid that i will just break a new one again. It would be nice if there is a universal heater core valve out there that does not have the copper tube. April 23, 200817 yr Author comment_245020 would it hurt just putting a universal valve on there instead of spending tons of money on some original part that might just break again???
