April 23, 200816 yr comment_245061 Well there's no such thing as a 240Z 2+2, and to say that they fit 240z, 260z, 280z is rather misleading since there is conditional interchangability especially with the 280z. To say "READY TO BOLT ON, ALL EXCELLENT CONDITION" on the heels of saying "WAS IN STORAGE WITH OUR OTHER CAR PARTS", "NOT REBUILT", and "FORGOT WE HAD IT".......well, let's just say the ad needs a little work. Those are 240Z carbureators. The carb guys here will say what year. April 23, 200816 yr comment_245063 Looks like an early air cleaner. I don't see a flapper or a hot air duct.As for the other details of that carb setup, either my eyes are getting old or the photos are too small.....four screws? Maybe? April 23, 200816 yr comment_245069 I'm no expert but, the manifold does not look like any Z car maniflod I've ever come across. Look at the balance tube assembly......looks to be a bit different to me! However, the Su's are certainly of the 4 screw type. Anyone care to elaborate?Tom Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/27835-what-year-did-this-come-off-of/#findComment-245069 Share on other sites
April 23, 200816 yr comment_245072 Just a WAG on my part, from all that we can see and read. I suspect they are four-screw roundtops and an early non-flapper airbox on a pair of 260Z 2+2 manifolds. April 23, 200816 yr comment_245082 The kink in the water tube is certainly different from what I am used to. I don't think that would match the obviously early (1970) air box. Four screw round top carbs came with a drain plug in the float bowl and without. If the float bowls do not have drain plugs, the carbs are very early (1969). IF they do have drain plugs, they are the later type. April 23, 200816 yr comment_245084 I can't say what that balance tube is. Don't know that I've ever seen that extra gizzy. Other than that count the number of screws holding the domes on. I'd ask the carb guy but he's scrambling to get out of town for some shows and warm weather this weekend. I know that a7dz's car from that month has no drain plugs, and it's been in their family since new.The real key to the earliest carbs seems to be the shape of the float cover. Early covers were round with screw bosses shaped like Mickey Mouse's ears. Later covers were more square shaped. I also had a pair of four screws without drains, but they (like a7dz's) had the later square float covers. April 23, 200816 yr comment_245089 The manifold looks like an N33, just like the one that I took off of my 1973 (you can see pictures in my gallery). The rest of the set-up is not familiar to me.... Perhaps this is a collection of various early to late parts put together as an assembly?
