Posted April 25, 200816 yr comment_245330 Was playing around with the Z a little while ago, and noticed a thin film of fuel oozing out of the top of the fuel pump. Popped off the four screws that hold the volute in place, and immediately noted the little black sealing ring had been crushed flat in a couple of places...more than enough clearance now to give me a small leak. Should I:1) try and find a replacement seal?2) place a small bead of sealer there in addition to the ring?3) just break down and buy a new pump? The MSD 2225 looks like it would work. April 25, 200816 yr comment_245336 I would first try to find a replacement seal. We have a business here that has a selection of seals & O-rings, etc. that has met most of my needs over the years. Look in the phone book, make some calls and then bring the old one with you. Tell them it is for fuel use. April 25, 200816 yr Author comment_245343 What's got me concerned is the shape of this thing -- it kinda looks like the front view of a cam lobe, with a broad circular base rising up and tapering to a much smaller rounded point. I've done some looking locally, and the best I've been told is that, no, they don't have it but yes they can make it...and oh by the way the minimum order is $500.00.
