Posted April 25, 200816 yr comment_245356 Hey whats up guys and gals? My name is Bruce I am from upstate New York. I have owned my 1976 280Z 2+2 since 2001 but I am just getting around to joining your forums. Within the past year I have swaped the engine in my Z because I blew the one that was in there, curently I am chasing down some vacauum leaks. I solved one only to find another. I have my AFM to TB boot down on the table slowly covering it in some expoxy to hopefully solve the last of my vacauum leaks. After this it will be get the car inspected and be ready to drive it once again for another summer. I recently made my own custom fuel rail for the Z too after looking a pictures of pallnets fuel rail being a former machinist I said I can make one of those and proceded to. I have a question for you guys has any one around here made a AFM to TB boot? if so do you think you could describe how or a pic says a thousand words. Thanks in advance and happy Z'ing.Bruce Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/27868-working-on-it/ Share on other sites
April 26, 200816 yr Author comment_245408 Well that solved my vacauum leak for now. now the car idles and is decently smooth while idleing. I also dumped in 4 gallons of 93 octane gas from mobil because its one of the few gas stations without the max 10% ethenoyl. I dont know if you guys have noticed a defference of the gas without it that you get more MPG out of it. All my plugs are burning like they should. so I guess it is about time to take it down the road and back and see how she is then. June 11, 200816 yr comment_250407 Hi - welcome to the Zcar forum. I'm moving to Beacon, New York (next to Fishkill) next week and hope to be settled by the end of June. Good luck on your NY inspection - I'll have to prep my car for it once I get settled. Hope mine goes smoothly.
