June 24, 200816 yr comment_251763 my advice would be to speak to an engineer first before laying down cash on your engine components..people on the internet make the RB30/26 conversion sound easy.. but that doesn't mean it is legal especially in NSW..i believe to get it engineered you would have to go through a whole slew of EPA tests and then have the passing tune locked into the ECU so it can't be modified etc.. not exactly a cheap option.. that is why i decided against doing it..maybe you would be better starting with a v8 or a v6 NA and keeping it relatively standard..of course this wouldn't matter if it is for off road use.. would be a waste of the car thoughbut i have said this before.. so.. i would recommend you look up the RTA website and find their "guidelines to light vehicle modifications" document.. it is a starting point on what you can and can't dogood luck Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/27874-big-job-ahead/?&page=2#findComment-251763 Share on other sites

June 25, 200816 yr comment_251857 If you want to do the rb30 conversion you should whack a r31 crossmember steering setup in, the rb 30 would sit right in then and you can upgrade to s14 lower control arms and suspension/brakes. I've had this done to mine by SWR and they should be able to give you a price as they've done it before now. When you take into account the steering and brake upgrade that will give you the initial extra cost over say just engine mounts starts to make sense. If you can do the work yourself I can supply you with shots of how mines been done. The photos look like it's pretty straight. It's cool that there's another K in the build Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/27874-big-job-ahead/?&page=2#findComment-251857 Share on other sites
