Posted May 2, 200816 yr comment_245987 I want to have a 3 inch exhaust put on my 75 280z, and i was wondering what headers everyone else uses for more hp. I have been searching the internet, and I can not find any headers for my l28 N/A motor. What headers does everyone else use with there 3 inch exhaust setup, will it be ok if i use the stock header? May 2, 200816 yr comment_246002 A 3" exhaust will net you nothing on an N/A car. Headers will net you nothing on a stock L28 N/A motor. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/27955-3-inch-exhasut-headers/#findComment-246002 Share on other sites
May 2, 200816 yr comment_246011 I concur. I am working on getting a better breathing head and a more aggressive cam before I would think about installing a header. May 5, 200816 yr comment_246349 A 3" exhaust will net you nothing on an N/A car. Well, every SCCA ITS 2.4L car I've ever seen runs a 3" exhaust. All the Vintage racing 240Zs I've seen run a 3" exhaust (2.4L, 2.8L). My old NA 3L ran a 3" exhaust... I can keep going... May 5, 200816 yr comment_246352 Come on, John. They're talking about a 3" exhaust on his (zmaster's) car. Basically a stock 75 with a few issues. Coupled with a Fitch Fuel catalyst, a fuel pump reading of 0.03 volts, and whatever other nonsense he's posted about that car the last thing he needs is encouragement here. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/27955-3-inch-exhasut-headers/#findComment-246352 Share on other sites
May 5, 200816 yr comment_246353 My issue was with the blanket statement posted above, not what's appropriate for a specific car. 99% of the 240Zs driven on the street do just fine with the factory exhaust. A good valve adjustment will usually give a bigger horsepower gain then upgrading to a 2.5" exhaust. May 5, 200816 yr comment_246359 I know. My issue is with with the naivety (and gullability) of the thread starter. I really should apologize for even posting that response. May 5, 200816 yr Author comment_246361 i have fixed the problem with my car and will be a daily driver finally in less than a week, and i asked about the fuel catalyst to see what everyone thinks of themi always see them advertised on tv on the weekends on spike tv when extreme 4x4, trucks, muscle car, and all of the other car shows are on, plus trucks tested one, on their dyno first without on, and then with one, and they say it increased horsepower, and milage. just my 2 cents Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/27955-3-inch-exhasut-headers/#findComment-246361 Share on other sites
