Posted May 5, 200816 yr comment_246281 I don't believe my car is a Califonia car. No floor temp light and no "C" or whatyever it is in the VIN that indicates a CA. car...So what is that thing that looks a lot like a Cat converter midway back in my exhaust? It has some raided letters stamped in the metal from the inside and sounds pretty solid when I knock on it.If it is a Cat Converter, what will it do to the performace, good or bad, if I remove it? We don't even need emission tests here..Thanks! Any benefit to removing it?Being from California originally, I just assumed it was a Cat converter...Thanks! May 5, 200816 yr comment_246297 glasspack then. :-D It keeps the exhaust note toned down. It might sound great with just a muffler only, but after a while it will really start to bug you. May 5, 200816 yr comment_246373 does it have a 02 sensor after it? if so I think i have the same thing too, but if it is a catalytic converter and i take it off will it affect how the engine runs because of the 02 sensor????
