Posted May 6, 200816 yr comment_246387 After removing my Ztherapy Carbs to replace the old insulators. my rear choke started to stick open. I noticed the carb was laying on it's side while doing this. I've examined the carb. I just don't see what is causing this. I'm hoping it isn't internal. It doesn't do it all the time. Say maybe 50%. Any suggestions as to what I upset? Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/28004-rear-choke-sticking/ Share on other sites
May 6, 200816 yr comment_246393 Is what you are saying is the nozzle is sticking down after you push the choke lever all the way forward? Is this correct? And it wasn't doing this before ? First thing , check the fuel hose that goes from the float bowl to the nozzle. If it is stiff or brittle replace it. If it is pliable , try giving it a little turn one way or the other . Some times the hose can put pressure on the nozzle and cause it to stick down. If the hoses in use are from a parts store , then they are too stiff. Buy these little hoses either from Nissan or ZTherapy. NEVER use vacuum hose for this because it is not formulated for gasoline and will fail. Spraying gas on a hot exhaust is not recommended . If after replacing the hoses the nozzle still sticks , try and lubricate the nozzle with anti-seize . You need to remove the nozzle to do this. If the problem continues you will need to replace the nozzle. ZTherapy has them. May 6, 200816 yr comment_246437 If, as Gary mentioned, this is a matter of the fuel nozzle not moving freely up and down, unscrew the linkage piece from the nozzle and see if the nozzle can be moved up and down without effort, independent of the linkage. If it does, check the video for the section on tweaking the linkage of a twist that may be causing the bind.
