Ive been watching that one since it posted, if the claim of only 4K+ miles is accurate, looks like it should command that kind of price. Of course, paying a premium for the low miles, you tend to lose value everytime you take it for a spin.

I notice that the undercarriage is black - does that seem odd for an untouched car? The two cars I have had were the exterior paint colour on the bottom.

I tried to modify the description to eliminate the "cruise control" note (the car does not have cruise control)--but I couldn't do it.

I've seen cruise control in a 280z with a standard transmission before - it looked stock, but may have been aftermarket. The controls were mounted between the shifter and the radio - next to the "fasten seat belt" light and the hazard flasher switch.

Wasn't stock, not as a factory or dealer installed option on a 280Z although the 77 and up 810 had it as a factory option so the technology was there for it.

Very nice car. If I had somewhere to keep it, I'd love to pick it up. I'd have to go back to the steel wheels and caps though@ :classic:

Wow, that is the cleanest 280 I've seen in the last 20 years. I'm glad to see it bring good money. Even at huge money for a 280Z, it will still cost somebody less than if they bought a new Civic or Sentra and has way more class and style.

Just checked the link to the sale. Seller took the unit down. Not for sale anymore and the auction was incomplete.

humm.... I just checked the link - it said "auction ended" ... reserve not meet...

Wonder if someone made him an offer he couldn't refuse, so he ended the auction or what???

BTW - not having the original wheels and tires on the car hurt it from a Collector perspective. Also, it did look in the pictures like someone was under the car cleaning and polishing selected parts... shouldn't have to do that with a 6K mile car... and doing that also hurts it from a Collector perspective. Being a 4spd. rather than the 5spd. also didn't help..

You would have to see it in person to really value it - but all-in-all $18K to $20K would be about right on that one... With the original tires showing 6K of wear, and the undercarriage looking like it should.. $21K to $23K to someone that loves the color and really wants a 77...
