May 11, 200816 yr comment_246982 I don't want to beat this to death but....if you have a late 74 (the 74.5 with the big bumpers) there are two fuel pumps and two fuel filters as was pointed out in an earlier post. In the late 74's the filters are both in the rear, not in the engine bay. There is the small white plastic in line filter beside the electric fuel pump AND there is a small paper filter inside the electric pump. Both need to be replaced as these cars are very sensitive to dirty filters. Of course, also make sure the tank is clean as you would with any car that has been sitting for awhile. Thanks I didnt realize that, both are replaced now Although, as I bought it, the car has no bumpers at all You might find this scan interesting. It's from the Nissan 'Outline Specifications 1975 Models' publication. Note the catagory your car falls into: I'd say the car is definitely a 74.5 or older. I'm not even sure how to get started trying to re-title it as a different year. I guess I'll call the DMV tomorrow, maybe they can give me some insight. This might be a pain but its better than having to worry about passing smog. Thanks!
