I have a 73 that I am about to put a 2.8L in..will my existing clutch setup with the 4 spd work ok? Or do I need to get a different clutch?

it will work. if you replace, just make sure you replace the clutch/pressure plate/throwout bearing/clutch collar as a set.

EDIT - forgot to add: make sure the friction surfaces of your two flywheels match. for example, if your L24 has a 225mm flywheel and your L28 has a 240mm flywheel you will not be compatible
