Should not be that much to ship...When I had my tank done by Moyer Fuel Tank Renu I had it shipped by Fedex ground and it was somewhere around $22.00 one way. I had my older brother build me a shipping case and then I double bagged the gas tank with large garbage bags and wrapped it really good with shipping tape. When it came back from Moyer's in the same shipping crate it was well protected to say the least...

If you were to buy another fuel tank, it may not be in new condition, so to do the job right, any used tank should be renewed before installing. Otherwise, you'll be removing it in the futurwe for the same reason as the old one.

So either way, the overall cost seems to be about the same, unless some big cost-cutting can be done.

Sorry but I was incorrect about the year. It is a 1977 gas tank that I need. I am buying this car from a relative and they thought it was a 1975. You would figure somebody that has this car would at least know the year. Guess not.

But please if you can help let me know.

I need a 1977 gas tank!!!!!

I dont care about the shipping cost it will be taken care of. And if you live close enough to Dallas then I will drive to pick it up.

thanks

  • 4 weeks later...

for 150.00 I had Sims radiator in Larryville dip and reseal the tank on my car that had sat for 20 years. There was a thick tar at the bottom of the tank. On the 75 (maybe 77 too) they have to cut two access panels to make sure they clean the internal screens and baffles. I had them dip and carefully sandblast the sending unit too. A coat of paint and some undercoating and the car is back on the road. Not perfect but on the way!

Check some of the radiator shops in your area and see if they can do this work for you.

Good luck!
