May 14, 200816 yr comment_247353 You should first see if it would be worthwhile to restore or repair the current one. This place can do it: http://gastankrenu.com/loc/tx.htm Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/28080-1975-gas-tank-for-280z/#findComment-247353 Share on other sites
May 14, 200816 yr comment_247355 IIRC, Waller is about 250mi away from Plano. So we're still talking shipping or a long drive. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/28080-1975-gas-tank-for-280z/#findComment-247355 Share on other sites
May 14, 200816 yr comment_247372 Should not be that much to ship...When I had my tank done by Moyer Fuel Tank Renu I had it shipped by Fedex ground and it was somewhere around $22.00 one way. I had my older brother build me a shipping case and then I double bagged the gas tank with large garbage bags and wrapped it really good with shipping tape. When it came back from Moyer's in the same shipping crate it was well protected to say the least...webdawg1 Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/28080-1975-gas-tank-for-280z/#findComment-247372 Share on other sites
May 14, 200816 yr comment_247378 If you were to buy another fuel tank, it may not be in new condition, so to do the job right, any used tank should be renewed before installing. Otherwise, you'll be removing it in the futurwe for the same reason as the old one.So either way, the overall cost seems to be about the same, unless some big cost-cutting can be done. You would figure somebody that has this car would at least know the year. Guess not. But please if you can help let me know. I need a 1977 gas tank!!!!!I dont care about the shipping cost it will be taken care of. June 11, 200816 yr comment_250405 for 150.00 I had Sims radiator in Larryville dip and reseal the tank on my car that had sat for 20 years. There was a thick tar at the bottom of the tank. On the 75 (maybe 77 too) they have to cut two access panels to make sure they clean the internal screens and baffles. I had them dip and carefully sandblast the sending unit too. A coat of paint and some undercoating and the car is back on the road. Not perfect but on the way!Check some of the radiator shops in your area and see if they can do this work for you.Good luck! June 11, 200816 yr comment_250408 77, 78 should be the same tank. If you have the old one just POR the darn thing. That liner is well worth the 60 bucks and a weekends work.
