Lest we forget.... and get scammed again.

Today marks the fourth anniversary of the self proclaimed "death" (would it be called "internet suicide" or "character assassination") of the Z-car character previously known as ZMEFLY; a thief and scandral who could only appear to be an honest, honorable and mentoring person when hidden in the clouds and vapors of the internet. The character "ZMEFLY" is dead, yet the person behind the name has continued to haunt the Z-car communities under a multitude of aliases, such as Dattozed and was even caught by Bambikiller when he feebly defended himself as BoostedZ. Nobody knows what alias he is using here today, but he will be reading this post! He has continued to screw Ebay out of payments using IDs of Katayamaz (isn't that one interesting, Mike?), and has used most recently, Yutakazz.

Currently he is under the alias of Jimmy Engle, at Engle’s garage in Uniontown, PA. It is strange that he would chose that name since it was the Engle daughters’ death certificate that he photoshoped as proof of his death, yet Jimmy was not named in her obituary, but it included her 2 other brothers, along with her sister, Delta Dawn.

One should feel pity for an individual who is stuck as victim of their environment; starting as a juvenile and continuing failure as non-promotable and a security risk in the military. There are many reasons why one cannot get a security clearance in the Army's INSCOM.

Zmefly is still around and you may even see him at a Zcar rally if it's close to PA or Maryland, but he can not use his original handle; he probably won't even be able to use his real name, but one thing is for certain....given an opportunity, he'll take your money and if you turn your back, he'll disappear into the vapor again!

Be careful out there!

Is there a reason why this dude preys on the Z community?

Because he can?

It takes a certain level of knowledge about a subject to be able to cheat people, particularly when they are involved in a particular hobby. I would bet that he preys upon other "interest groups" as well, but generally you do what you know, and apparently he knows Datsuns.

It's not that he preys specifically on the Z-car community, it's that he is most familiar with them and there is a large group of enthusists he can take advantage of. It also boosts his ego to show his expertize about those cars. His record shows he mostly takes advantage of people on Ebay and Craigslist.

Sam hasn't been here in over 3 years.

James Burgess, AKA ZMEFLY, apparently took plenty of money from plenty of people. I wasn't buying any parts at the time, so fortunately, he never had the opportunity to scam me. If you conduct a Google search on ZMEFLY and JAMES BURGESS, you can get some idea of how much of a scumbag he is. For instance, he even put his then-girlfriend up to posting a fake death notice on this board seven years ago. She later recanted after realizing she had been covering for such scum. If he never approaches a Zcar related board again, it will be too soon.

This post is a very old one, from 2008. It was a bit of drama, and I remember we were almost dragged into court over it. No reason to hash up an old and distant memory over this thing. I'm locking the thread.

Always always always make sure to protect yourself when performing online transactions. The best way to do this is to use a service like Paypal, a credit card, online broker, or some kind of or even better perform the transaction in person. Online transactions can be a very good way of doing business, but, you always have to watch out for someone who promises to send something and they don't actually send it.

I am going to post a very good article I found on Craigslist transactions, which, are exactly the same kind of transactions that occur on any website. Link HERE.
