May 13, 200816 yr comment_247196 Bill,I've installed the same white face gauge kit on my 1970! Let me put it this way, if you are lacking patients and are not good with detail work, you will likely wind up speaking to God a number of times. It's not that difficult a job but, the adhesive is really good and if you don't get the overlays aligned up correctly the first time, the odds of pulling the overlay off without damaging it is low! When installed sucessfully however, you will be a happy camper!Tom Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/28088-msa-white-gauge-faces/#findComment-247196 Share on other sites

May 16, 200816 yr comment_247658 I have white face plates installed on my 71' 240.Here are some tips:You will probably want to change your bulbs while you are at it.I replaced my bulbs with RED color bulbs (found on the internet somewhere)You must remove the green plastic bulb covers from the gauge housings so the colored light will shine throughWhile you have the housing apart and the face plate removed, paint the inside of the housing bright white. (rattle can is ok)This will help reflect the light and you will get better illuminationYou wil also want to paint the needles on the guages.I used RED, most people use flouresent orangeRemember to sand inside the mounting hole of the clock needles before trying to put them back on. My clock worked like a champ before I started. I didn't realize the paint build up was hendering my putting them back on the clock. I forced them on, and now the clock doesn't work.make sure you keep your hands clean and wait till all paint is dry before touching your white face plates.I have a small red smudge on one face plate that no one else will notice, but it drives me nuts because I know if I had been a little more patient, it wouldn't be there at all.By the way, I love the way my white gauges look.I'm sure you will like them as wellMark Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/28088-msa-white-gauge-faces/#findComment-247658 Share on other sites

June 17, 200816 yr comment_251104 Check out the guage faces from speedhut.com.Click on Datsun guages and play around with the different setting they have available. I bought mine with the reverse indiglo, you can go with different font colors and faces among other options. $89.95 and they look fantastic, very good quality. I dont have them installed yet but will try to post pix if you want to see them. June 18, 200816 yr comment_251108 I went out in the garage and snapped a few pictures of the guages. I think for the money they look a helluvalot better than the vinyl from MSA and you dont need to screw around with different bulbs, painting the inside of the guages white or silver. Just plug and play. I originally was going to get black with a bluish green font, they almost look stock. After playing around with different combonations, I opted for silver with a blue font that will match the head unit of the stereo. no juice hooked up juiced up but taken with a flash taken without a flash, a little blurry but you get the idea, I didnt shoot the 3 center guages but they are included as well. The only thing I didnt like was the Speedhut logo and found out after the fact that you can have them delete it for an extra 10 bucks. They have a lot of options, indiglo, reverse indiglo, faces in black, white, yellow, red. Different font types, graphics.
