Posted May 14, 200816 yr comment_247261 What is the weight penalty for a 2+2 over the normal Z? Does the extra length harm/help handling and overall power? thanks Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/28094-1977-280z-22/ Share on other sites

May 14, 200816 yr comment_247271 From the 78 dealer brochure. As far as handling, I've never driven a 2+2. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/28094-1977-280z-22/#findComment-247271 Share on other sites
May 14, 200816 yr comment_247289 I have driven both, the differences are noticeable in driving. The coupe is noticeably quicker and more nimble when compared one right after the other-but unless they are driven in quick succession, the only thing you notice is the difference in ride-the 2+2 is more comfortable because of the long wheelbase. Will Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/28094-1977-280z-22/#findComment-247289 Share on other sites
May 14, 200816 yr comment_247293 yes, the ride for a 2+2 seems smoother and maybe even quieter. It's been years since I drove a 280 2+2, but that was my lasting impression from years ago. Still nice cars nonetheless, but you can't beat the coupes hands down in terms of performance. That's for any Z. May 14, 200816 yr comment_247341 As I said, I've never driven a 2+2. But Andy and Will's description of the ride and handling of the 2+2 sounds like the ride and handling of my 810 coupe. But you can put full sized people in my back seat! Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/28094-1977-280z-22/#findComment-247341 Share on other sites
