Brake Booster Hose - Engine Side

I know that the hose is NLA and no one even MSA or BD carries any longer for the 240Z. S I bought one from Ebay from a user than sells a lot of Z stuff, I asked if it would fit as it looked like it had more bends in it than mine had and I was reassured it did.

I figured that at worse case I would have to relocate the spot where it connected to the engine, but now that I have it I can't see where it would go.

Below are pics:

First is of the current hose that came with the car

Second is of the new hoselaid next to the old hose

Third is of seeing how it would go if I moved the pick up to the spot in front of the current one

Fourth is of putting it where I have seen other Z's with it

but as can be seen it just doesn't seem to fit anywhere, the seller just said to turn it around but the hose doesn't have the right angle bends on both ends that seem would make it work properly.

Any ideas/comments such as where to get the right one, or if by chance someone has made this one work.

Thanks

Gus, I believe the one you want should have a 90 degree bend at both ends, and the orientation of the two bends should also be at 90 degrees to each other. Between the bends it should be straight, no curves.

Gus, I think I have what you need. Check the pics and let me know if it looks OK. If it is, I will send it down to you. Just email me your street address.

That looks like it is it George, I will pm you my address.

I agree that is what it looks like Arne, and I have no problem with relocating the pick up if another version of the hose was all that is available and the seller confirmed it was the only one available and had superseded previous versions but this one I got is not even close, I could probably cut it and make it fit somehow but that is not right.

Gus,

I assume you conquered the gas tank hose issue and the pricey replacements and now you are moving into the engine compartment?

Your stock setup looks like mine from memory ...... simple hose with (2) 90-deg bends. The one you purchased is aftermarket and is definitely not the right p/n. E-Bay guys do get confused and frequently say things to sell parts.

I am not sure that hose from George in Melbourne is going to fit?

Going to Palm City Sat AM to check my Z prior to prime ..... are you interested?

Gus,

My memory was correct that my original braided hose was same as you show in picture. It failed trying to remember what is on car today!

I replaced the hose years ago and the new hose looks very similar to one in George's photo and it does not have braided outer casing but I did buy it through Nissan. It does have an extra bend in it and I hope it is not installed backwards??? My photo library got me aligned with reality. Here is current hose:

Yes I conquered the gas tank, I even had the car running nicely until I found the fuel pump leaking like crazy so now I have a new pump but the spacer broke into a few pieces when I was trying to take it off the pump, so now waiting on a new spacer to arrive.

Are you going tomorrow to the shop? I would love to go but this weekend my younger son graduated from high school and it is a little crazy around here.
