Posted May 19, 200816 yr comment_247977 On my 76 280Z I'm going to remove the seat belts in order to do a neater job for putting in a new carpet. Many years ago I undid something on the lower outer seat belt mechanism that caused the coiled spring to unwind. Many hours later I got it back together. Can any one refresh my memory which bolts or screws NOT to take off. Thanks Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/28155-seat-belt-removal/ Share on other sites
May 20, 200816 yr comment_248124 pretty sure if you're just taking out the bottom ratchet set, just take out the major structural bolts that hold it to the floor. toss it in the back with the belt still attached... One bolt up top, two on the bottom and one more on the female side.
